The Opportunity

Our client, who are a market leader in sustainable property development and are based in the heart of Yorkshire, are looking to recruit an Assembly Process Engineer to join their award-winning team. This position has come about due to continued success and demand for their bespoke, modular environmental solutions to City Living.

 

Responsibilities

As an Assembly Process Engineer you will be required to carry out the following day to day responsibilities:

  • Work closely alongside the Area Process Lead and the Team Leaders to ensure safety-excellence is the first consideration in all workplace design and working process. All new and existing processes comply with CDM and18001 regs.
  • To mentor, train and coach new and existing team members to ensure all new processes are worked on as a collective and are implemented together with all team members views and ideas taken into consideration.
  • All new processes implementation will be meticulously planned and all avenues explored, to ensure the change is introduced a smoothly as possible without disruption to product quality or the production plan.
  • All new processes should be within budget and prove to have either a cost saving or efficiency gain. Create small project teams of stakeholders whenever possible to see the execution of the process change is taken ownership of by the relevant teams.
  • To champion alongside other Process Engineers the creation, alignment, implementation and standardisation of Production System methods and product processes. Day-to-day training, coaching and development of team members in the Production system and lean ways of working is active.

 

Skills & Qualifications

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their efficiency’s in project management and will possess an eye for detail along with a methodical approach to their work load.   They will also be able to problem solve whilst working under pressure to hit tight deadlines.  They will also have a background in CAD, possess strong Excel skills along with Knowledge of lean manufacturing process.

Essential Skills:

  • Managing Budgets
  • Experience of new product introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production
  • Experience of managing a team
  • CAPEX
  • TPM and PPM
  • 8 waste elimination
  • Time and motion exercises

The Ideal candidate will hold the following qualifications:

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree, HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications
  • FMEA
