OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager on behalf of a national Refurbishment and Fit-out Contractor based in Essex.

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for multiple refurb and fit-out projects throughout the South East valued up to £250k.

Role Description

  • Oversee refurb and fit-out projects up to a value of £250k.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure satisfaction
  • Attend site meetings
  • Manage multiple projects at any one time.
  • Must be able to review technical drawings for variations, valuations and take offs
  • Preparing documents from tender and contract
  • Advising on procurement strategy
  • Cost control
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments
  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations;
  • Feasibility studies of client requests
  • Allocating upcoming work to contractors
  • Prepare contract documents e.g. method statements and risk assessments
  • Carry out site visits and surveys
  • Prepare handover documents.
  • Manage contract costs and variations including procurement

Skills & Attributes

  • Degree qualified in a Construction Or Engineering discipline is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience managing multiple refurb and fit-out projects.
  • Excellent commercial acumen
  • Previous demonstrable experience in a contracts manager role
  • Experience in surveying and quoting for small and large works desirable
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Working knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation
  • Experience in commercial and industrial sectors
  • IT literate, e.g. proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel or similar
  • Full driving license
