We are currently working in partnership with a rapidly expanding engineering and manufacturing SME specialising in Ductwork and Fume Extraction for industrial applications who are looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis.

This position has been created due to recent growth and the business is now looking to develop a driven candidate who is looking to progress within the industry

This role will require candidates to attend site to assess customer requirements and to provide design and quotations for all forms of ducting/ extraction systems within industrial environments.
Ideally candidates will have working knowledge of the Ducting/Ventilation industry alongside the ability to design ventilation systems.

Role Description
-Attend site and discuss customer project requirements
-Gathering detailed information, calculations and required measurements
-Design system appropriate to meet customer clients and specifications
-Produce quotations and proposal drawings
-Liaise with operations and production to produce weekly lead time estimations
-Develop system for feedback from Contracts Team on pricing and quotations
-Manage new leads, quotations and customer calls backs to meet KPI and targets
-Chase, monitor and manage quotations in liaison with the sales administrator
-Working with the buyer to source prices for quotations
-Develop pricing folders, documentation and guidance
-Commission of projects onsite
-Work with the contracts team to manage variations on ongoing projects
-Liaise with the accounts department regarding any specific contractual obligations such as special trading terms or retentions
-Use of appointed company systems and procedures
-Flexible to and input into change and continued improvement of the design/sales team

Skills & Attributes
-Significant ductwork and extraction knowledge
-Commercial awareness and a high level of business acumen
-Well-presented and confident manner
-Qualified Mechanical engineer or related
-AUTOCAD Desirable but not essential
-Computer skills essential- Microsoft office
