OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a number of Domestic Service Engineers on behalf of a national provider of sustainable heating solutions.

Their services include the design, installation, maintenance and management of plant rooms and heat networks on behalf of local authorities, universities, factories, housing associations, private landlords and utility energy suppliers

The Domestic Service Engineer will carry out reactive and planned maintenance of HIU’s and Heat Meters at residential sites throughout Central London.

 

Role Description

  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance, servicing and replacement of heatworks, HIUs and heat meters.
  • Hydraulic Interface Unit (HIU) replacement, maintenance and servicing (mainly in occupied homes).
  • Installing and replacing heat meters on district heating networks.
  • Provide reactive maintenance including equipment installed in people’s homes, or commissioned within a scheme but not yet handed over to clients/residents.
  • Carry out post-installation upgrade/maintenance programmes
  • Problem solving and fault-finding issues on site and liaising with other trades and the main contractor.
  • Liaise with & report to site staff (clients, principle contractors, consultants & heating/plumbing sub- contractors) representing the company whilst at development sites.
  • Interact with clients & customers on site at developments.
  • Maintain personal equipment & stock of spares/consumables to a level ensuring continuity of service.

 Skills & Attributes

  • NVQ level 2/3 plumbing and heating.
  • Demonstrable plumbing and heating background with experience in installation, servicing and maintenance.
  • Previous experience working on HIU’s is preferred but not essential
  • Electrical qualification and experience is desirable.
  • Clear, Valid Driving licence
