OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Our client, one of the UKs leading retail businesses, are looking to recruit a Graduate Industrial Refrigeration Design Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis in Manchester. This role has been created due to growth within the business which has made room for a new member of the team. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspect of Design on a range Industrial CO2 and Ammonia Refrigeration Plant for a number of sites across the UK.  Interested candidates must have a Mechanical Engineering degree with a minimum of 2/3 years post graduate experience within industry.  This role is ideal for a highly driven candidate with an interest in developing and working with highly technical refrigeration systems.

Role Description

  • Produce design specifications for a number of CO2 and Ammonia systems for sites across  the UK
  • Review design proposals from suppliers to determine if they are fit for purpose and action any required changes.
  • Owns the technical design standards, processes and procedures within category plan and adherence to relevant legislation.
  • All elements of technical design and specification advice and assistance to ensure all relevant stakeholders undertake their business in a safe and legal manner ranging from office work through to construction projects.
  • To develop, maintain and validate internal technical policy and procedures to improve technical compliance.
  • Attendance at meetings and preparation of technical reports and analysis of figures for internal meetings as required
  • Liaise with and represent the business at external bodies such as HSE, local Authority, Specialist groups on technical safety issues.
  • Working within the industry and with peers to ascertain best practise and make recommendations where applicable.
  • Promotes and leads a culture of technical compliance in which the business strive for ‘best in class’.

 

Qualifications & Skills
• Degree Qualified in an Mechanical Engineering Discipline  ( BEng/ Meng)

  • Understanding of refrigeration ( Advantageous).
    • Able to create design in both 2D and 3D
    • Good practical and theoretical understanding of fundamental engineering principles.
    • Open Minded attitude.
    • Innovative thinker but with the ability to prioritise
  • Full UK Driving License
