OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Our client, an Internationally recognised Engineering/Manufacturing business are looking for a HR Advisor to join them initially on a 6 month contract to provide day to day support to the site HR Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress and develop.

 

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the HR and Senior Management team on an ongoing basis across a range of duties including disciplinaries, RTW, Grievances and recruitment to ensure they are compliant with all HR and H&S legislation.

 

Hours of Work – 08:20 – 1700 Monday – Thurs / 0820 – 1245 Friday

 

Responsibilities and Duties

 

Answering the phone in a polite and professional manner and screening phone calls;

Dealing with incoming emails;

Creating job specifications and adverts for recruitment and liaising with relevant contacts

Collate and send out letters to staff

Look for ways to improve staff development

Carry out and arrange development reviews

Take the lead on arranging and carrying out disciplinary meetings

Assist with interviewing

Carry out H&S checks

Ensure all staff are compliant with H&S legislation

Attend H&S Quarterly Meetings

Complete monthly HR reports on Attendance, Sickness, Staff Turnover

Prepare all documentation for new staff: Contracts, etc.

Induct all new staff

Promote a happy working environment for all staff

Deal with staff issues as required

Identify skill gaps and arranging relevant training

 

Qualifications and Skills

Strong educational background  –  A* – C GCSE’s, including Maths and English.

Previous experience working within a HR function

Previous experience working within an Engineering/ Manufacturing environment ( Advantageous)

A pragmatic approach to decisions, whilst also being able to balance risk.

Self-motivated and able to work autonomously .

Results driven.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to be diplomatic and tactful, yet forceful when necessary.

Good computer skills;

Appreciate the need for confidentiality;

Work well under stress
