OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Our client, a leading Engineering/ Manufacturing business are looking to recruit a Planning Manager to lead the planning team on site to aid in improving overall production output. This is a permanent role with the business based on Days Monday – Friday. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable background working within a Senior Planning role within an Engineering/ Manufacturing environment and have a solid understanding of SAP – Candidates without SAP XP will not be considered.

Role Description

  • Directly manage a team responsible for material and capacity planning and forecasting.
  • Define and constantly improve the process of managing MRP exception to avoid obsolete material and guarantee the correct material delivery and inventory control.
  • Ensure Inventory average stock levels availability within agreed budgets; support operation initiatives on the same activity driven by the regional planning teams to achieve end to end supply chain optimization and support customer service.
  • Contribute to new product introduction for new components and depletion process for obsolete materials.
  • Deliver an achievable production plan that meets customer requirements.
  • Measure adherence to schedule and advise of alternative strategies when plan is at risk.
  • Drive visual management.
  • Develop and report on KPIs and accountabilities that drive performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications / Experience

• Demonstrable experience working within a planning management role
• Experience in an Inventory/Parts setting ideally in an Engineering/ Manufacturing setting
• MS Office skills (Word, Outlook etc) with intermediate to advanced excel skills.

•Strong SAP skills
• Prior project management experience desirable
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage work pressure
• Ability to influence others and build productive, motivated, committed high performance team
• Ability to identify and resolve problems, demonstrating sound and judgement and decisions.
• Good commercial awareness
• Strong expediting skills
• Exposure to lean practices is desirable.
