OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Due to continual expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Production Manager to join our client in Coventry on a permanent basis. The Production Manager will work alongside the Operations and Commercial Director to help streamline the shop floor operation and look after the day to day running of production and associated duties. With extensive growth plans in place, we are looking to recruit a driven production manager who is looking to make a real change in a business and be part of a bespoke manufacturing business. The suitable candidate needs to have a demonstrable background in precision engineering and have worked in a Production Manager capacity in a previous role. They will need to be able to adapt to different situations and demands quickly. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a Sub Contract Manufacturing environment and have exposure to looking after aspect of H&S/ Quality Assurance/ Production Scheduling and Sickness/Disciplinaries.

Responsibilities of the job include:

  • Planning and organising production schedules
  • Process Improvement
  • Assessing project and resource requirements
  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met
  • Overseeing production processes
  • Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
  • Selecting, ordering and purchasing materials
  • Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
  • Liaising with buyers and marketing and sales staff
  • Responsible for production, despatch and sub assembly personnel and their functions
  • Organising relevant training and staff appraisals

Qualifications/ Skills

  • Demonstrable experience working within a Production Management role within a Precision Engineering environment.
  • Time Served Engineering (Ideally within a machining capacity)
  • Experience implementing process improvement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Full UK Driving License.
