OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, this specialist construction technology consultancy is recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their Auditing and Inspection Department. The company provide a range of construction technology services primarily focused on the areas of structural engineering, specialising in offsite construction consultancy and the design of modular and panellised light gauge steel structures.

​The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of quality engineering duties, including the planning and conducting of compliance audits in accordance with the Construction Product Regulations, and construction site inspections in accordance with construction product installation assurance schemes.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct audits (desk-based or on clients’ sites) in accordance with the Construction Product Regulations and ISO 9001 management systems;
  • Complete all chargeable work within the required budget and time-frame to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain business efficiency;
  • Ensure completion of all assigned work and relevant documentation in accordance with required procedures and standards to fulfil client expectations.

The Person

  • Third Level Degree (Level 8) in Engineering or Construction related discipline;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a quality management, auditing or inspection role within the construction industry, with expertise of aggregate, ready mix concrete, precast concrete and asphalt production processes and conformity control;
  • Experience of auditing quality management and factory production control systems.

Desirable

  • Experience in positions with significant quality management system responsibility;
  • A proficient working knowledge of Euronorm construction standards;
  • Experience of compliance and auditing techniques;
  • A recognized QMS or Lead Auditor qualification.
