OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work on a highways maintenance project on behalf of a local authority.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of the Commercial management of the contract.
  • Undertake cost analysis of submitted payment applications from the Contractor.
  • Assist in the responses to Early Warnings.
  • Respond as required to compensation event notifications and quotations.
  • Assist in the management of the contract Early Warning register.
  • Assist in issuing Employer’s Early Warnings.
  • Respond to technical questions on the use and application of the contract method of measurement and method of measurement for highway works.
  • Respond to technical questions regarding the contract specification and the specification for highway works.
  • Analysing contract payments and providing detailed progress reports.
  • Providing reports as necessary to assist the Contracts Manager in the commercial running of the contract.
  • Advise as requested on commercial and legal aspects of the contract.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Qualifications to degree standard or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
  • Have a complete understanding and experience in NEC3 ECC and TSC contracts.
  • Experience in highway maintenance contracts.
  • Have a good understanding of street lighting works.
  • Highly skilled in using Microsoft Excel.
  • Skills in using Microsoft Project.
