Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer on behalf of a mechanical, electrical and environmental services consultancy.

Established almost 15 years, they provide design, witness and advisory services to a wide range of sectors including transport, residential, industrial, commercial, healthcare, education and retail.

As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside the Managing Director and Principal Engineer and work within an effective team to ensure that project briefs and requirements are met. You will provide effective designs, conduct surveys, prepare feasibility reports, specifications, provide site supervision and management of mechanical services installations, following health and safety, QA and environmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Preparing AutoCAD drawings in accordance with company CAD standards and design calculations using industry leading software such as Hevacomp.
• Assist in preparing reports such as feasibility studies, design reports, specifications and contract administration following Quality Assurance and Health and Safety procedures and company administration policies.
• Attend site surveys and client meetings.
• Undertaking detailed site surveys and design reviews.
• Implement technical standards and support the business development. Compliance with CDM Regulations must be ensured.
• Comply with all relevant policy, standards and statutory legislation including quality management, customer services and equal opportunities.
• To ensure that customer requirements are identified and agreed with the client.
• To ensure the delivery of quality assured, client focused products and services to meet the agreed requirements of the customer.

Skills and Attributes

• Chartered engineer or working towards.
• Ideally degree qualified or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience working in a consultancy.
• Great technical knowledge in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• Ability to undertake mechanical designs from inception to completion.
• Ideal candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office packages and Building services Software such as AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ideally being able to mentor and assist the graduate engineers.
• Client facing role – able to represent the company at client/design meetings.
• Appreciation of contract administration and project management.
• Ability to multi-task and work on several projects.
