OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

Our client, an international EPCM has been named as the main Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor for the delivery of a new, advanced waste-to-energy facility in Hull. They will be responsible for the design and build of the new facility that will incorporate the latest fluidised bed gasification technology.

 

The Position

The Site Manager will be responsible for supervising site activities, subcontractors etc including safety within a designated site. The main responsibilities will be

  • To co-ordinate closely within the project team, with the subcontractors under their control, the client’s team and facilitate the safe progress of the works
  • To be able to establish from the overarching project programme the milestones required to ensure successful progression and completion and communicate those clearly to the package contractors in suitable format to make certain of finishing on time
  • To pursue and obtain QA documentation thus ensuring successful close out of all contract QA requirements for the packages
  • Ensure that all project safety requirements are met and adhered to
  • To be the point of contact for subcontractor site management and be involved with the subcontractor selection and procurement process
  • To help and support team members
  • To keep accurate records and ensure the team also provide detailed accounts of their activities
  • Ensure that on site instructions from client’s authorised personnel are being recorded and managed
  • To be able to conclude a project to the client’s satisfaction including snagging, commissioning, validation and room readiness
  • Fulfil all the requirements of the company procedures
  • Set up the site cabins, ensure services are connected and the site area is kept clean and tidy

 

The Person

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate that they have worked in a similar capacity on successful projects of a similar size and complexity. They should also possess the following;

  • CSCS Registration
  • Construction qualifications (e.g. HND)
  • Proven construction experience across a wide range of projects
  • First Aid / H & S qualification
  • Site experience working with concrete frame construction
  • Able to read drawings, carry out on site pre-pour checks, drainage
  • Manage EHS
  • Organise and coordinate civil structural work packages on site
