OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are recruiting for a Stores Team Leader on behalf of a specialist organisation who design, manufacture, commission and service Wet Blasting machinery.

Established over 25 years ago the company provides Wet Blasting solutions to clients in the Uk and overseas across a range of industries including Automotive, Aerospace and Nuclear applications.

The Stores Team Leader will be responsible for the leadership of the stores team and management of goods inwards and outwards along with restocking vans, inventory control and stock accuracy of engineering components.

 

Role Description

  • Line management of the Stores Team
  • Generate daily works order and pick schedules for the stores team
  • Generate weekly works order and build schedule for the workshop
  • Generate and monitor sub-contract schedules for completion by the stores team, ensuring that orders are despatched on-time and on a weekly basis.
  • Working with the stores and internal sales team to ensure that Sales Orders are despatched on time and to the priority given by the internal sales team
  • Ensure that the goods inwards area is clear on a daily basis and that issues are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Undertake QA procedures on goods received including measuring metalwork
  • Stock Control accuracy and checking to ensure 100% correct stock levels.
  • Manage and participate in continual reconciliation of stock, cycle-counting and annual stock take as required
  • Organise and manage stock on carrier shelves, bins, racks and drawers
  • Returning of faulty goods for credit – both to suppliers and from customers as required
  • Working with the stores team ensure that all goods inwards are cleared in a timely manner, maintaining accurate stock – Issue Monthly Reports KPI reports
  • Ensure that the stores area health and safety standards are maintained and identify any issues relating to health and safety
  • Arrange despatches with designated carriers and carry out first order chasing to identify and hopefully solve incoming/outgoing carriage problems.
  • Prioritise work flow through the stores as required by Operations Director
  • Ensure that the carriage spreadsheet is maintained daily, entering each dispatch that has been sent via a carrier and request POD’s (Proof of Delivery).
  • Support the stores team on a daily basis with goods inwards and goods outwards processes
  • Manage stock anomalies (quarantined stock) this includes incorrect or damaged stock.
  • Take ownership of the HSE in stores and be a member of the HSE Management Team.

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Leadership Course/Qualification
  • Level 2 qualifications in Team Leading – CMI is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience working in a stores/logistics role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • MS Excel Qualification
  • Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor.
  • In-depth knowledge of performance metrics.
  • Good PC skills, especially MS Excel.
