OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Survey Manager to join a leading specialist organisation that carry out topographical, building, utility and laser surveys on behalf of public and private sector clients throughout the Uk.

As the Survey Manager you will be responsible for the co-ordination and day to day management of the company’s topographical, 3D, land and utility surveyors.

Role Description

  • Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance.
  • Preparation of monthly cost/value reports with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
  • Production of commercial reports together with review of results and consideration of trends
  • Conduct weekly progress meetings with the team, ensuring correct resources are in place
  • Commercial and contractual advice when required
  • Measurement of works and agreement of same with client
  • Collaborative working with clients and understanding their requirements
  • Final CAD Quality control and Auditing processes of design before submission
  • Line management and integration of new team members where appropriate
  • Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are received on time
  • Managing and sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and payment
  • Develop and grow the Department together with the Contracts Manager and Company Directors.
  • Quality control on site through regular monthly health and safety audits

Skills & Attributes

  • Surveying background with experience of land, building, utilities and laser surveys.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a supervisory/management capacity.
  • Ideally have experience of quoting for work and preparation of costings.
  • Have an understanding of industry standards including PAS 128
  • Must be able to work to a high degree of accuracy, with strong communication, negotiating and presentation skills
