Position: An interesting and challenging new opportunity exist to work for one of the country's leading M&E Contractors for an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator, to work unsupervised on estimates from initial tender stage through to adjudication. Assisting the Estimating Manager and junior Estimating team at all stages of the estimate. Key responsibilities * Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the Tendering process, specific to particular schemes during Tender settlement meetings. * Able to negotiate the optimum Tender price from suppliers, wholesalers and subcontractors * Manage the enquiry process with the supply chain and appraise quotations for both technical and commercial viability * Participate in handover of successful bids to delivery team * Ensure delivery team understand the technical, financial and key programme issues and the key business drivers * Able to determine the necessity of site visits to understand build ability and risk * Interpret drawings and specifications to establish most cost effective solutions on site * Successfully interpret employer's requirements and prepare contractor's proposals Technical Skills / Knowledge * Ability to query Tender documents * Undertake technical/commercial appraisals of supplier and subcontractor quotations * Demonstrate ability to analyse drawings, specifications, proposals to prepare time, product, cost and labour estimates * Qualified to HNC/ONC in an Engineering discipline * Proven track record in successful projects awards * Knowledge of Design & Build Estimating * Able to measure drawings and take off quantities |
