OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Contract Manager on behalf of one of the UK’s leading building services companies.

Established over 40 years, their head office is based in London, and they also have several over offices across the nation. They are known for their services in M&E, FM, Design and Construction.

They are a well-known company with hundreds of employees working for them. They work in a range of sectors including commercial, residential, health and transport.

As the Contract Manager you will have overall responsibility for the contract, engineers, and sub-contractors including commercial and reporting. Day to day close liaison with the client. This is working on a Bristol City Council contract. Will be a confident, self-motivating, experienced manager that has worked in Building Services maintenance/contracting.

 

Responsibilities

  • To Manage the Bristol City Council Contract, in an effective and efficient manner, meeting the requirements and expectations of the Customers Team within the boundaries of the contract
  • Carry out auditing to our quality systems including: NICEIC, SHEQ, Compliance, and workmanship inspections
  • Maintain a consistent high level of engineering standards
  • Attend regular meetings with the Customers to discuss, and appraise the Contracts performance
  • Manage and oversee the companies IMs CAFM system
  • Ensure all operatives are provided with the necessary resources, materials, tools, and information to enable them to carry out their duties and for ensuring that safe working practices are adhered to
  • Out of Hours support, and escalation procedures
  • Continuity of operatives rotas, ensuring an escalation procedure is in place, and routine call outs and holidays periods are covered accordingly
  • Support projects, small works and reactive works requests
  • Provide support for statutory compliance / planned maintenance activities
  • Review Innovation and Energy saving initiatives
  • Reconcile, and provide monthly Financial applications to the Customer
  • Working within Operational Budgets and constraints
  • Provide costs for capital projects, plant replacement schemes
  • Assist in appointing Sub Contractors
  • Assist in providing budget information, and compiling financial reports
  • Review Sub Contractors performance, and billing applications
  • Staff mentoring, training, recruitment, sickness, holidays, disciplinary and grievance management

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Previous experience working as a Contracts Manager ideally with an M&E/Building Services Contractor.
  • A team player with a high level of self-motivation and organisational ability.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Analytical and methodical in approach to problem solving.
  • People management and staff supervision skills.
  • Must have excellent communication, leadership and motivational skills.
  • Good understanding of statutory compliance and contract deliverables.
