OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for an Electrical tester on behalf of an award winning electrical safety company. They ensure homes are safe by providing test and inspection services for electrical installations.

As the Electrical Tester, you will be required to carry out essential electrical testing and inspection services for customers, predominately in residential housing, to identify remedial works if required, to create relevant certifications and upload them into the company system.

Your day-to-day role will involve attending appointments for electrical test & inspection (predominately EICRs). Other duties may include remedial works, PAT testing, fire alarm/ CO alarm testing.

 

Responsibilities

  • Follow PPE and safety requirements.
  • Carry out inspections in accordance with guidelines.
  • Call & visit estate agents as required regarding key collection & drop off.
  • Call & visit tenants / home-owners & customers to carry out the services booked.
  • Be able to explain the need for critical safety work to tenants at the door should they be unsure of letting you in including our safety policies.
  • Use your tablet to create and upload your inspection summaries (including certificates)
  • Communicate with the Bookings Team regarding any issues in carrying out an appointment.
  • Communicate with your supervisor for any technical / electrical support required.
  • Support training Apprentices and new recruits on the job.
  • Ensure all appointments are completed and the system is used effectively.
  • Work to KPI’s for appointments per day, minimising appointments missed, & upload time.
  • Attend team training days from time to time.
  • Stay overnight out of area as required from time to time.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • 18th Edition.
  • Inspection and Testing 2391/2 would also be beneficial.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate with customers & colleagues, and confidently deal with any situations that arise.
  • Ensure all work carried out is the best to ability.
  • Organised and efficient.
  • Full UK Driving License.
