Position:              Flood Risk Modeller

Salary:                  £35-40K plus benefits

The Opportunity

An opportunity has opened for a Flood Risk Modeller to join our clients experienced team in Bristol.

The primary focus of this role is hydrological and hydraulic modelling, often in Flood Modeller Pro or TUFLOW.

The role does require direct contact with clients and regulators and management of varied and challenging projects within this growing division of our clients multidisciplinary engineering consultancy.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience of undertaking flood risk assessments in accordance with NPPF (and/or TAN 15)
  • An understanding of the developer industry would be advantageous
  • A good understanding of the workings of the Environment Agency (and Natural Resources Wales) and Lead Local Flood Authorities
  • Up to date knowledge of current planning policies and procedures and how these can be utilised to maximise the level of service offered to the client whilst gaining required approvals
  • Ideally have a first degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or physical science and possibly a higher degree in a water subject
  • A good level of consultancy/industry experience
