OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Civil / Structural Engineer on behalf of a multi-disciplinary consultancy.

Established almost 15 years, they provide design, witness and advisory services to a wide range of sectors including transport (mainly rail) , residential, industrial, commercial, healthcare, education and retail.

Working alongside the engineering design team, you will be responding to client needs, developing and producing reports, undertaking structural analysis and designs, undertaking site inspections, drafting and drawing layouts, following all health and safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out structural analysis and design and/or to check such work performed by others.
  • Ability to assist with site supervision of Civil and Structural Engineering schemes.
  • Assist with or carry out inspections of Civil and Structural Engineering works.
  • To interface with clients, attending and, as required assisting with minuting key meetings.
  • To assist with, carry out, or check the preparation of drawings in CAD (AutoCAD, Microstation and/or REVIT) and increasingly using a BIM approach, training will be provided.
  • To assist with preparation of all project documentation.
  • To assist in the delivery of projects to programme, to budget and to match or exceed the clients’ expectations.
  • To attain the highest levels of health and safety awareness and fully understand and implement the duties of the Designer under the CDM Regulations.

 

Skills and Attributes

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or relevant subject.
  • Ability to perform structural analysis & design.
  • Knowledge of drafting and drawing layouts.
  • Fit and able for rail site works and to pass PTS.
  • Well organised and good communication skills.
