The Company:

Continued expansion and the planned opening of new offices in the Midlands area has created various exciting new opportunities for qualified and experienced engineers. The company is a construction technology consultancy that provide a range of construction technology services primarily focused on the areas of structural engineering, specialising in offsite construction consultancy and the design of modular and panellised light gauge steel structures. Building physics, providing certified thermal modelling, u-value and condensation risk calculations. They also provide construction products, materials and systems development services, including third-party certification, as well as auditing, inspection, and building regulations services.

The Role:

As Structural Engineer will include –

• Production of structural designs, primarily associated with cold formed steel and structural steel elements;
• Production of technical details using AutoCAD;
• Assisting Senior Structural Engineers as required;
• Project management of building product and system development;
• Project management of third-party certification of building products and systems;
• Exploring opportunities for new sales, and acquiring new clients;
• Liaising with clients, contractors and consultants;
• Providing design office support to production departments;
• Assisting with drawing queries from Estimating Department and commercial staff on technical matters;
• Ensuring compliance with our Quality Assurance and Management Systems and with relevant Health and Safety Legislation.

The Person:

• Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience in a similar role, with significant experience of structural steel and cold formed steel design;
• Qualified in a relevant discipline such as Civil/Structural Engineering;
• Working towards Chartership;
• Experience with structural software such as Tedds and Masterseries, and proficiency in MS Excel;
• Experience in working in BIM projects;
• Excellent working knowledge of current Building Regulations, Eurocodes and British Standards;
• Experience in the use of AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of and experience in the offsite construction industry would be very advantageous.
