After Boris Johnson’s announcement last night construction workers were unsure if they should be turning up to work today.

Robert Jenrick, the Secretary of Sate for Housing, posted a tweet earlier today advising that construction workers can go to work as long as they follow strict guidelines on social distancing.

The Government seems committed to keeping the construction industry running for as long as possible.

The advice is as follows:

• If you can work from home then do so
• You can work on site but make sure you follow the social distancing measures
• Get to site on your own, try not to use public transport
• Stay 2 meters away from colleagues
• Wear all recommended PPE
• Keep washing your hands with soap and water
