OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Officer on behalf of a local authority affiliated organisation based in Dudley.

The operations officer will co-ordinate and control the resources used to carry out assigned work such as inspection, scheduling, planning, allocating and executing works within a contract area.

 

Role Description

  • Supervise and performance manage craft operatives and contractors.
  • Provide project management including sequencing of works, ordering and planning deliveries, joinery and plant to facilitate the contract target dates.
  • Provide effective management to external contractors and oversee their onsite performance.
  • Hold regular meetings with external contractors to develop and agree new procedures and working methods where required.
  • Carry out pre-inspections of repairs on local properties utilising computerised equipment, in tenanted and void properties.
  • Ensure that all drawings, specifications, schedules and bill of quantities are complied with building regulations.
  • Develop health & safety plans for construction projects and implement control measures required in order to deal with potential project risks.

 

Skills & Education

  • BSc or HNC or similar qualification in construction related discipline.
  • IOSH Managing Safely in Construction.
  • Previous experience on supervising craft operatives and contractors undertaking domestic repairs and improvements.
  • Previous experience on advising and supporting management on technical issues and hazards associated with construction activity.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Driving license.
  • Business insurance certificate for vehicle.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
