The Opportunity

Our client is a well established structural, civil and geo-environmental consultancy. Due to continued growth in the West Yorkshire area they are opening a new Leeds based regional office and consequently recruiting for an experienced Senior level Civil/Structural Engineer. As the Principal/Associate Engineer you will be instrumental in driving forward the development of the office, and play an active role in promoting the business in the local area. They are seeking an ambitious and driven candidate who will make this role their own and play a pivotal role in the growth of the Leeds office.

The Position

As the Principal Civil Structural Engineer part of your role will be focussed on Project Delivery, acting as a Project Lead and working with a team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver high value schemes. This will involve regular meetings and liaison with various members of the Design Team, as well as project programming, resourcing, concept and technical design and reviewing of financial milestones.

The remainder of the role will depend on the Candidate’s experience but ultimately the goal will be for them to lead the Leeds team as a self-sufficient office.

The Person

The Principal Civil Structural Engineer will be:

• Either Chartered or near-Chartered (ICE or IStructE)
• Highly proficient in design within their relevant discipline, with a proven track record of leading teams to deliver high value projects in the residential / retail / commercial / education / healthcare sectors
• Experienced in client and design team facing roles
• Experienced in mentoring/training junior staff
• Business Development experience/portfolio of clients preferred but not essential
• Experience of producing bids and fee proposals preferred
