Overview
Due to expansion we are currently recruiting for a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer on behalf of a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
Established almost 15 years, they provide design, witness and advisory services to a wide range of sectors including transport (mainly rail) , residential, industrial, commercial, healthcare, education and retail.
Working alongside the Directors’, you will be facing clients, responding to client needs, developing and producing reports, specifications, undertaking site inspections and overseeing testing and commissioning activities, following all health and safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures.
It is an exciting time to join the business as they are going through an expansion stage and looking for additional engineers to help develop the direction of the company. Responsibilities
- Working within a multi-disciplinary design team, through all stages of the design process.
- Reporting and specification writing, calculations, AutoCAD and/or Microstation and developing designs from first principles.
- Mentoring and supervising graduates/junior members of staff where needed.
- Appreciation of contract administration and project management.
- Supporting Directors’ in financial control of projects, supporting audits e.g. RISQS/ISO, resource management and business development.
- Responsible for quality of our outputs.
- To act in the roles of CRE.
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent technical knowledge in civil and structural design engineering.
- Previous experience working in a design consultancy.
- Ability to face clients and understand their requirements.
- You should be working towards Chartership status.
- Experienced user of CAD/AutoCAD.
- Experience of working in the BIM environment (REVIT) will be beneficial; however not essential.
- Basic knowledge of QUENSH.
- Ability to perform structural analysis & design.
- Ability to write reports.
- Ability to carry out investigations and inspections.
