Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Site Manager on behalf of a multi-disciplinary construction, refurb and fit-out contractor based in West Yorkshire.
The company operate within the Industrial, Commercial and Retails sectors and manage contracts up to £10 million in value.
Role Description
- Attend survey meetings and Action HB surveys and supervise further survey requirements (in house and specialist).
- Assist in the development of the site setup layout and provision.
- Familiarise with and understand the programme.
- Meet subcontractors and review the scope and programme/phasing.
- Action take offs and complete Material requisitions.
- Attend any required meetings with client and end user.
- Obtain, review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements are prepared.
- Manage the safety on site
- Action take offs and complete Material requisitions.
- Liaise with end user to ensure all are fully informed of ongoing works.
- Manage conflict (design/specification information or human).
- Attend the progress meeting where possible.
- Manage document control and ensure all required site documents are returned to the office.
- Compile snagging lists and close out defects in a timely manner.
- Complete Material and Plant requisitions.
- Ensure work is completed by contractors as per their scope of works.
- Assist QS with final account.
- Deputise for other Site Manager when required (holiday, sickness etc.).
- Delegate effectively to ensure timely completion of works and production of documentation.
- Communicate effectively with Contracts and other Departments.
Skills & Attributes
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in construction or construction related activity or relative experience.
- Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Black Card.
- Previous experience working as Site Manager, ideally working on refurb and fit-out projects.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of shop fitting or construction.
- Experience in a customer facing role, with a proven track record of putting clients first.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental safety requirements.
- Computer literate with basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office packages.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Cats 3a 3b.
- Driving license.
- Safety Pass Alliance for Petrol Forecourt Works (desirable)
