Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Engineer / Mechanical Fitter on behalf of one of the UK’s largest stainless steel tanker rental companies.
Established over 20 years ago, they are now part of a much larger group. They have a rental fleet of over 200 tankers which are used in the UK and also overseas. Their rental fleet is used in a range of market sectors including Food, Milk & Water, Waste, Chemical and Petroleum.
As the Workshop Engineer you will be responsible for servicing and repairing a range of the rental fleet tankers.
We are looking for a well-organised individual who has good communication skills and an adaptable work style. The ideal candidate will have a background in the following areas; road tankers, vehicle electrics, pneumatics, hydraulics and vacuum pumps.
This position is available for an immediate start.
Role Description
- Servicing of road Tankers.
- Repairs to Tankers both Running Gear & Vessel.
- Keeping on top of paperwork and making sure it is completed in a timely manner.
- Identifying opportunities for additional work and reporting this.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area
- Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices.
Skills & Attributes
- Ideally completed an engineering apprenticeship.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicles would be beneficial.
- Coded welding qualification in Stainless Steel would be an advantage.
- Previous experience using a guillotine & press brake.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Well organised and able to work on own initiative.
- Ability to read and follow drawings.
- Able to work in confined spaces and at height.
