86% of construction sites have reopened in England and Wales

According to new Build UK figures 86% of sites in England and Wales are reopen as the return to work on construction and infrastructure sites gathers pace.

The figures also show that 67% of housing sites have reopened.

Build UK’s memberships include most of the sectors biggest names, such as Balfour Beatty, Kier, McAlpine, Bam and Wates.

Build UK also reported that productivity is improving on reopened sites, Output has increased to 75% but challenges remain in London where output is slightly lower at 68%.

The housing sector has improved significantly and is up to 65%, up from 29% four weeks ago.

The situation in Scotland remains very different. Only 19% of projects are currently running with an output of 22%.
