Our client, a rapidly expanding business who specialise in the development and provision of energy saving technology for retail refrigeration are looking to recruit a product development/ support engineer to join the business on a permanent basis at their office near Stockport.

This role will work closely with the CEO of the business in providing product support to both new and existing clients to ensure the product is fit for purpose and any changes to design are made and relevant testing is carried out.

The role will cover all aspects of the work required to deliver products that help supermarkets manage their refrigeration energy costs.

Role Description:

• To manage the relationship with prospective new clients, understanding their refrigeration specifications in store and working with them from initial product specification enquiries, through testing to potential order stage. Depending on experience the individual may have direct responsibility for certain clients as well as supporting the CEO on work with larger clients.

• Oversee suppliers on the refinement of existing products or the development of new products as may be required, reviewing and approving design modifications through to approved drawing stage.

• Support the Aerofoil team on the resolution of any design issues that arise during order implementation stage.

• Liaise with the external partnership team on design and testing matters.

• Undertake surveys at stores from time to time to identify product requirements specific to each store or client.

• Attend conferences from time to time to promote the company  products.

• Understand the range of company products, their specifications and uses.

• Work closely with other members of the team ensuring a thorough and seamless handover for implementation.

Requirements/background:

•Education to degree level – ideally Mechanical Engineering

•Understanding of Air flow and Aerodynamics ( Advantageous)

• Excellent inter-personal skills and able to deal professionally with clients.

• Understanding of refrigeration would be helpful but not essential.

• Good problem solving skills.

• Good excel skills – able to deal with simple RoI calculations

• Strong self-starter able to manage their workload without regular supervision
