We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Planner to join my client in Wakefield on a permanent basis. This position has been created to allow for a long term handover with the current member of the team on site.
The successful candidate will be required to create an effective forward plan for production on site which achieves both efficient utilisation of manufacturing capacity on site and management of stock to meet customer demand.
Candidates must have experience working within an FMCG environment, ideally with exposure to glass/ packaging manufacturing
Responsibilities:

• Interpretation of customer requirements to develop a weekly production plan.
• Manage offsite production as required in support of manufacturing requirements
• Create product costing for NPD and production jobs
• Create / update packaging specifications as required
• Balance inventory profile in line with company forecasts whilst maintaining customer service levels
• Manage the ordering of packaging and other materials in support of the plan
• Producing management reports as required
• Communicating with both internal customers and external customers
• Maintain accurate Master data
• Provide holiday / absence cover for decoration planning
• Budgeting of glass and decoration (including external decoration)
• Travel to suppliers and customers as required

Required skills:

• Demonstrable experience in a production planning role is essential
• Experience in glass/ packaging preferred
• Knowledge of ERP systems (Infor would be an advantage but not essential)
• Ability to liaise and communicate at all levels both within the business and customer facing
• Excellent IT skills (intermediate Excel skills required)
