Due to continued growth this long established leading Building Services Consultancy is recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer. Operating in 4 major market sectors; leisure, commercial, education and residential/mixed use developments. Projects vary from £4million to £200million in terms of construction value. The Consultancy has won national and international awards for some of its design work and has established itself as a leader in low carbon and renewable technologies and low energy buildings.

Job Description

The Senior Engineer will be required to deal with projects predominantly in the UK from concept/feasibility stage, through design and construction to commissioning and handover.. The design work varies from developing concept designs to Stage 3 for planning purposes to fully detailed design, contract and construction drawings. There will be opportunities to develop within the Company as the Company grows. The Company places a large emphasis on providing a high level of service and meeting Client requirements.

Skills that will be developed include but are not limited to the following:

• Lighting calculations
• Cable calculations
• Part L Compliance checking
• Detail development of concept designs to include equipment selection and specification etc
• Liaison with architects, clients, structural engineers and contractors
• Project Management
• Site inspections

Qualifications and experience

The senior engineer will ideally have achieved chartered engineering status.

• Degree or alternative qualification in electrical (building services) engineering
• AutoCAD experience (preferential but not essential)
• Experience in the use of NES software (preferential but not essential)
• Experience in the use of Dialux or Relux lighting design software (preferential but not essential)
• Experience in the use of Amtech design software (preferential but not essential)
