OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

Due to continuous expansion, we are currently recruiting for a Wastewater Mechanical/Electrical Service Engineer to work on a mobile basis.

The company has been established for almost 50 years and specialises in packaged and engineered treatment of ‘clean’ process water and ‘dirty’ wastewater, sewage and sludge water, as well as providing ongoing operation, maintenance, servicing & spare parts.

They have offices in Stoke and Reading, but also have contracts in London, Yorkshire and the North. The location of the candidate doesn’t necessarily matter too much as you will be on the road full time. In the past they have had engineers based in Peterborough, Northampton and London. You would only occasionally be asked to attend the Stoke office if there was no work or if there was a meeting or training, etc.

We are looking for someone with a positive and pro-active approach who can work well within a team aswell as using their own initiative. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background and will have experience working on sewage pumping stations and sewage treatment plants.

Role Description

  • Carry out service work on sewage pumping stations and sewage treatment systems.
  • Install single and three phase pumps and associated equipment.
  • Undertake fault finding work and also work on control panels.
  • Control van stocks to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
  • Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.

Skills & Attributes

  • Experience working within sewage pumping stations and sewage treatment systems.
  • Ability to fault find, diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Knowledge of single and three phase equipment.
  • Previous experience in a field based service and maintenance role.
  • Relevant electrical qualification, ideally 17th or 18th
  • Good communications skills and a proactive manner.
  • Have good time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work well individually or as part of a team.
  • Full UK Driving License.
