Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Vacuum and Refrigeration Engineer on behalf of a well-established company who design, manufacture  and maintain high vacuum systems and freeze dryers.

Based in Thornbury, they have been operating almost 15 years and have a team of over 10 employees.

Their services branch out to a range of industries including pharmaceutical, nuclear, government, aerospace, oil and gas, universities, research institutes and more. Their clients include the likes of EDF, Unilever, Pepsi and Thermo Fisher.

You will be responsible for carrying out on-site and in-house inspection/repair/service of freeze dryers, vacuum pumps and related equipment. The work is approximately 50% in-house / 50% on-site.

Essential requirements are that the candidate are F-Gas trained with previous experience in refrigeration.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site and in-house inspection/repair/service of freeze dryers, vacuum pumps and related equipment.
• Work from our facility in Thornbury, Bristol.
• Use company pool vehicles when required for on-site work.
• Be prepared to undertake overnight stays when required, even at short notice, to service the requirements of our nationwide customer base.
• Be prepared to work outside of the UK; this will be occasional and for periods of no more than one month.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in refrigeration (F GAS trained)
• Previous experience in high vacuum engineering is beneficial.
• Recognised qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, or time served equivalent.
• Self-motivated and assertive.
• Flexible and willing to assist with production engineering when required.
• Good communication skills and a proactive manner.
• Good time management.
• Be prepared to work unsociable hours if required.
• Work well alone or as part of a team.
• Hold a current driving licence.
• Be able to use MS Outlook and Word.
