Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician on behalf of one of the UK’s leading building services companies.
Established over 40 years, their head office is based in London, and they also have several over offices across the nation. They are known for their services in M&E, FM, Design and Construction.
They are a well-known company with hundreds of employees working for them. They work in a range of sectors including commercial, residential, health and transport.
This is working on a hard FM contract which carries out service and maintenance work to train stations down the East Coast from Edinburgh to Kings Cross.
They are responsible for looking after all aspects of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing and fabric.
This is a permanent position, paying £34k – £37k per annum, working Monday to Friday 40 hours per week. You will receive Pension and 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Company Vehicle and train pass for travel to sites. Overtime. Ongoing training provided including PTS (personal trackside safety Sentinel card). Mobile phone / Tablet. On Call Allowance.
Covering Newcastle (Durham, Darlington and York while on call or as required)
Responsibilities
- To ensure all delegated Reactive Works orders are completed within the contract defined time SLA’s & KPI’s.
- To carry out electrical PPM’s (Planned Preventive Maintenance) on all aspects of the electrical installations.
- Ensure the Client, Customer and Team are ‘kept in the loop’ through feedback and regular updates.
- To work alongside the Fabric Technicians assisting each other with two man jobs.
- Contribute to the delivery of a quality service, aiming for 100% satisfaction of the Customer.
- Communicate daily with helpdesk/Supervisor regarding status of PPM and Reactive tasks.
- To ensure the strict company Health and Safety policy is adhered to.
- On call rota including standby allowance (£100 per week roughly 1 in 6).
- Out of hours working will be required at times to complete specific tasks.
Skills & Attributes
- 18th Edition.
- Experience working within FM or the building maintenance industry.
- Working knowledge of SFG20 advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
- Strong, demonstrable competencies in building services which will include all aspects of building maintenance, meaning you may be asked to do works not related to your primary trade.
- Working alongside the fabric technicians as a dynamic team.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance tasks, including general maintenance and repairs, on electrical systems.
- Electrical installation / small works / general maintenance as required.
- Ability to complete relevant electrical certification paperwork.
- Emergency light testing.
- Fault finding.
- Good customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
- Competent in the use of computers and data handling.
