OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Opportunity
Due to continued expansion this leading well established multi-disciplinary Contractor is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager. The company works on a varierty of project types up to a value of £5M, including Residential schemes, large and medium sized Commercial installations and Healthcare.
The Role
As the Electrical Contracts Manager you will be responsible for a number of Electrical Installation projects.
- Oversee around £2-3M worth of Electrical Installations
- Attend site meetings
- Manage multiple projects at any one time.
- Manage Supervisors and other onsite staff
- Review technical drawings for variations, valuations and take offs
- Preparing documents from tender and contract with the architect and/or the client
- Advising on procurement strategy
- Cost control
- Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
- Valuing completed work and arranging payments
- Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations
- Analysing completed work and arranging payment to contractors
- Allocating upcoming work to contractors
- Prepare contract documents e.g. method statements and risk assessments
- Carry out site visits and surveys
- Prepare handover documents.
- Manage contract costs and variations including procurement
- Manage on-site teams & sub-contractors
The Person
- Preferably an apprentice trained Electrician or minimum HNC qualified
- Strong Electrical Building Services background
- Have worked in a similar role for several years
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Residential, Commercial project experience up to £5M in value
- Experience in managing a team
- Excellent man-management skills
- Working knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation
- IT literate, e.g. proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel or similar
- Full driving license
- Excellent communicator and possess impressive numeracy skills to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role
