OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth this leading national FM Service Provider has an opportunity for an experienced Bid Manager. You will be reporting into the Business Development Director, and will play a critical role in supporting the business’s growth through planning, managing and delivering successful bids. The successful candidate will be commercially minded, flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed time frames.

 

The Bid Manager is responsible for:

  • Developing a bid strategy
  • Execution of the strategy
  • Managing the bid process, including commercials
  • Writing and submitting the bid
  • Creating and facilitating post-tender presentations
  • Initial financial template issue against standard pricing

 

Role Requirements:

  • Manages the bid qualification (bid/no bid) process for new opportunities
  • Proactively finding relevant tenders on Heat Networks including identification of frameworks
  • Scheduling and running bid kick-off meetings
  • Coordinating proposal governance and sign-off – using best practice bid procedures & processes
  • Organising and improving the whole process from tender library to submission
  • Introduction and management of a sharepoint/Jira system for tender management
  • Identifying existing and re-working existing pre-written content where relevant, managing the bid library
  • Ensure documents follow standard formatting and quality standards
  • Preparing and reviewing the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer
  • Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process
  • Delivering and ensuring timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids
  • Arranging clarifications, post submission interviews and contract liaison on award

 

Experience:

  • Several years bid management experience
  • Proven capability in delivering winning, high value products or complex service opportunities
  • Experience of bid campaign management from opportunity identification through to project delivery
  • Provision of valuable input into opportunity qualification, win strategies, commercial discussions and solution design
  • Comfortable working at CEO/Director level, communicating and influencing at a senior level
  • Organised and diligent approach to managing bids
  • Fully conversant with marketplace or evidence of becoming so in a new industry quickly
  • Sound commercial understanding and risk management skills
  • Solid understanding and implementation of internal governance procedures

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Several years bid management experience
