Overview

Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for another Commercial Gas Engineer on behalf of a well-known specialist provider of mechanical and electrical engineering services.

Established over 100 years they have a team of almost 250 members of staff working for them, across multiple offices in the UK.

The main sectors they work in are retail, commercial, healthcare and leisure. They a large portfolio of clients including Local Councils, Universities, Hilton hotels, Wagamama, Lidl, Next etc.

As the Commercial Gas Engineer, you will join the service and maintenance team working mainly on retail sites. The role will require you to service and repair all types of heating equipment, including but not limited to gas fired unit heaters, air handling units and gas fired boilers.

These are permanent positions paying £39.5k – £41.5k per annum. Private use of van is allowed. Paid door to door travel. Plenty of overtime and weekend work available. Overtime is paid at time and a half Monday – Saturday and double time on a Sunday. 23 days annual leave increasing to 26. Bank holidays are additional. The call out rota is 1 in 6 and receives a £100 standby fee and again paid door to door if called out.

Responsibilities

• Day to day responsive and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of commercial and heating systems.
• Response service, fault diagnosis, repair and renewal works.
• Reactive and minor repair works.
• Maintenance and upkeep of Plant Rooms and associated equipment.
• Install new plant equipment when required.
• Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
• Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.

Skills & Attributes

• Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications.
• Background in building services/facilities management would be beneficial.
• Previous experience working on commercial heating systems.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
• An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.
• Full UK Driving License.
