OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

Due to continued expansion this leading well established multi-disciplinary Contractor is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager. The company works on a varierty of project types up to a value of £5M, including Residential schemes, large and medium sized Commercial installations and Healthcare.

The Role

As the Electrical Contracts Manager you will be responsible for a number of Electrical Installation projects.

  • Oversee around £2-3M worth of Electrical Installations
  • Attend site meetings
  • Manage multiple projects at any one time.
  • Manage Supervisors and other onsite staff
  • Review technical drawings for variations, valuations and take offs
  • Preparing documents from tender and contract with the architect and/or the client
  • Advising on procurement strategy
  • Cost control
  • Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments
  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations
  • Analysing completed work and arranging payment to contractors
  • Allocating upcoming work to contractors
  • Prepare contract documents e.g. method statements and risk assessments
  • Carry out site visits and surveys
  • Prepare handover documents.
  • Manage contract costs and variations including procurement
  • Manage on-site teams & sub-contractors

The Person

  • Preferably an apprentice trained Electrician or minimum HNC qualified
  • Strong Electrical Building Services background
  • Have worked in a similar role for several years
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Residential, Commercial project experience up to £5M in value
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Excellent man-management skills
  • Working knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation
  • IT literate, e.g. proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel or similar
  • Full driving license
  • Excellent communicator and possess impressive numeracy skills to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role
