Overview

Due to continued growth we are currently recruiting for an Electrical Estimator on behalf of a well-established Mechanical and Electrical contractor based in Sheffield.

Established 10 years they offer a full range of design and installation services, specialising in mechanical and electrical systems for a diverse clientele including businesses, main contractors, and private clients. Typical projects they work on are commercial, offices, hotels, bars and restaurants.

As the Electrical Estimator you would work on diverse projects including electrical installations, data, CCTV, fire alarms, and access control systems. You would take the lead on estimating projects up to £1M. You would be joining a company that truly values its employees and fosters a collaborative work environment.

This is a permanent role paying £45k – £50k per annum. Perks also include company car, bonus scheme, pension, training & development courses, opportunities for progression etc. You would start off on 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising 1 day per year after you have completed 2 years service.

Role Description

• Be the go-to expert in the department, playing a key role in high-value contracts up to £1M.
• Preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical projects.
• Reviewing drawings and specifications to develop cost-effective solutions.
• Working with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Collaborating with engineers and project managers to submit accurate tenders.
• Work on a range of projects, including electrical installations, data systems, CCTV, fire alarms, and access control.

Skills & Attributes

• Electrical engineering experience, including design.
• Proven track record in estimating electrical work.
• ONC/HNC in Building Services Engineering (or relevant experience).
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to work under pressure.
• A good understanding of labour, plant, and material costs.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.
• Full UK Driving License.
