OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are recruiting for a Facilities Management Engineer on behalf of a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to work out of their office in Farnborough.

The Facilities Management Engineer will be responsible for undertaking condition surveys, service delivery audits and preparing plant replacement and life cycle plans for a range of buildings including Commercial, Education, Retail and Residential properties.

 

Role Description

  • Undertake technical audits of maintenance contract service delivery documentation
  • Provide advice on condition, pre-planned maintenance, repair and refurbishment options
  • Carry out surveys tailored to property acquisition advice or dilapidations
  • Comment and report on statutory requirements in connection with building engineering services
  • Undertake feasibility studies, design and project management of refurbishment and new works
  • Formulate maintenance programmes and schedules
  • Analyse and report on maintenance contractors performance and costs
  • Chair periodic contract review meetings
  • Have an active involvement in procuring, managing and monitoring of planned maintenance services
  • Assist the Principal Engineers and Senior Engineers in setting maintenance contracts on behalf of clients
  • Prepare asset registers by undertaking site surveys and compiling structured lists of M&E and associated plant
  • Develop client relationships with existing FM Group customers and identify opportunities for future business.
  • Identify business opportunities for other groups within the business.

Skills & Attributes

  • ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • City & Guilds Part III/NVQ3 in Building Engineering Services related disciplines
  • Hold a relevant level of membership of CIBSE, IMechE, IET or BIFM.
  • Have a good practical understanding of mechanical and electrical plant, systems and equipment.
  • Have a working knowledge of current regulations, statutory obligations and industry best practice in relation to engineering operation and maintenance.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • City & Guilds Part III/NVQ3 in Building Engineering Services related disciplines
  • Hold a relevant level of membership of CIBSE, IMechE, IET or BIFM.
  • Have a good practical understanding of mechanical and electrical plant, systems and equipment.
