OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Opportunity
5-6 month contract on a Power Station in Brigg working for an established M&E Contractor.
Main Purpose of Job:
To ensure that all H&S related systems and procedures are implemented and adhered to. To record, report and investigate any accidents or incidents which occur on site. To review all activities and ensure suitable and sufficient Risk Assessments are implemented and communicated. To liaise with colleagues and customers to ensure continuous improvement of the H&S systems are implemented and to promote a positive safety culture. To liaise with the Company QHSE Manager on H&S issues as necessary.
Key Tasks:
- To carry out Risk Assessments and prepare Method Statements for all work activities and ensure adequate control measures are in place, documented and communicated to all employees and sub-contractors.
- To review and revise Risk Assessments and Method Statements on an ongoing basis.
- To carry out Fire Risk Assessments, record and communicate the finding.
- To attend H&S related meetings and promote the company commitment to H&S
- To promote a safe working culture
- To promote through audit safe working practices and communicate improvement measures to all personnel
- To record, report and investigate all accidents and incidents which arise
- To report to and liaise with the central QHSE function as appropriate
General Duties
- To implement all company policies and procedures.
- To uphold the good name of the company and to behave in an appropriate manner both on and off the premises.
- To establish and maintain positive relations with others and present a high standard of professionalism.
- Any other duties within the purpose, scope and spirit of the post as may be required by the Directors or their delegates’ authority.
The Person
- To have the NEBOSH qualification
- Site Experience
- To have worked within the Electrical Industry for a good duration
- To not be afraid to be assertive in regard to enforcing H&S on Site
