The Opportunity

Our client is a global market leader in the design and manufacture of subsea equipment throughout the world. They are currently going through a recruitment drive to support a new process division of the business, and are looking for several experienced Engineers with a background in the Oil & Gas industry.

The Position

As the product Engineer you will be expected to deliver technical information and instructions within a planned schedule. Provide advice to customers, other operations and departments across the business on design, problems and solutions.

Responsibilities of the Product Engineer roles are:

• To create, analyse and develop Product Design to meet customers’ or the industry’s needs, having an awareness of good economic design and safety, both in manufacture and function
• Design, produce and analyse mathematical models as well as undertaking mechanical design calculations and draw design conclusions based on those.
• Create and maintain product documentation (requirements, specification, design, development, integration, test procedures and results) following company procedures.
• Discuss the customer’s requirements and identify products that meet these.
• Give technical advice on the application and proper use of the products
• Adhere to the processes stipulated in the Engineering Procedures (EPs) and the Business Process Management system (BPM).
• To ensure all work is undertaken in a safe manner in line with company health and safety guidelines.
• Maintain familiarity with Company technology, organisation, and business.

The Person

Ideally applicants must have the following experience/skills:

• Degree in Engineering or suitable alternative qualification plus suitable experience.
• Excellent communication & Interpersonal skills
• Problem solving ability.
• PC skills to include, SAP/PLM, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MathCad, AutoCad and Inventor or similar 3D CAD package.
• Have the initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Adaptability/Flexibility, Customer Focus (internal and external), Decision Making/Judgment, Dependability, Initiative, Results Focus, Work Environment/Safety

Benefits

Salary range £40- 60k but happy to look at very strong candidates outside of this salary range.   There is a bonus which has paid out at 70% over the past few years (10%  rising to 20% at management/senior level).
