OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Our Client, a leading global supplier of Industrial Door solutions is currently seeking a Production/ Operations Manager to join the business in York on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the business managing the day to day activity on site in York and reporting directly to Head Office in Germany.

With extensive growth plans in place, we are looking for a candidate with a strong Engineering background and experience in setting up production facilities from scratch and seeing this through to completion.

Candidates will also be required to spend time at Head Office in Germany/ Holland to help better understand the business structure and product to allow you to improve efficiencies for the UK site.

This opportunity would suit a driven, passionate candidate looking to take on a long term, large scale project that they can fully immerse themselves in.

 

Role Description

  • Improve site effectiveness by providing leadership for the production and logistic departments
  • Take a leading role in long term growth plans to improve operational excellence and increased output.
  • Create an efficient production facility from ‘Cradle to Grave’ to help the subsidiary reach its maximum potential.
  • Productively organise the day-to-day running of the site production/warehouse facility.
  • Manage and improve effectiveness of site Health and Safety, Production and Logistic.
  • Identify weaknesses in both the current operation and staff knowledge and implement improvements plans to bring all staff to the same level
  • Run costing analysis on current operation to assign true labour cost to Production/ Warehouse Operations.

 

Candidate Qualifications/ Skills

• Ideally Candidates will have a strong man management background with in depth technical knowledge of Sub / Final Assembly
• Demonstrable experience setting up production facilities and implementing efficient to increase output.
• Strong working knowledge of health and safety standards.
• Previous experience working within a Production/ Operations management role directly managing staff ( Not other managers)
