An exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing team of upholsterers within this successful mattress manufacturing business. If you are an enthusiastic individual with previous experience in divan frame upholstery, we would like to hear from you.

The Role

The successful candidate will be required to fit a sewn divan cover squarely  to a variety of different sizes and specifications of  main assembled divan frames to ensure a tight fit. Using air driven tools, you will be required to staple the cover to the frame ensuring staples are evenly spaced and then attach a dust sheet and bag of fittings. You will be expected to work closely with the main assemble, material feeder, divan case sewer and quality inspector.

Key Responsibilities

• To carry out this operation when fully trained
• Ensure all air tools are checked daily and are in good working order
• Check all finished frames meet quality standards prior to upholstery
• Assess the divan case is of acceptable quality
• Check that the drawer fits the frame
• Ensure that each finished piece has a fittings bag and identification number attached prior to bagging
• Finished divan pieces are placed on the conveyor belt safely
• Operating within and following all site health and safety guidelines
• Follow all quality standards that are in place
• Maintain a clean work-station and surrounding area regularly to prevent a build-up of waste materials which can cause slip or trip hazards
• To carry out any other reasonable request from management
