OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

 

The Opportunity

Our client, who are a market leader in sustainable property development and are based in the heart of Yorkshire are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their award-winning team. This position has come about due to continued success and demand for their bespoke, modular environmental solutions to City Living.

Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor you will be required to carry out the following day to day responsibilities:

  • Take full commercial responsibility for the project, managing the project costs from Pre-Construction (Stage 2) through to Project Completion (Stage 6) achieving H&S SLA’S, sustainability and quality objectives, on time and on budget whilst protecting their financial position.
  • The project build cost achieved the cost plan.
  • All contractual notices to Sub-Contractors were issued on time, ensuring they have confidence and trust to deliver future work as part of the clients approved Supply Chain, whilst protecting their contractual position.
  • All Sub-Contract packages commenced on time as a result of timely placement, in line with project Ontime Delivery targets.
  • All Sub-Contract works estimates were accurate as a result of a database of up to date material and labour costs.
  • Project financial reports were updated and issued by the due date on a monthly basis.

 

Skills & Qualifications

The Ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and mindset:

  • A Highly focussed approach with keen eye for detail
  • Excellent planning skills (They will set the project/team/Sub-Contractor’s up to succeed!)
  • ‘Value’ driven approach with a strong project/profit acumen
  • Exceptional Sub-Contractor management
  • Results focussed and strive for excellence
  • The ability to Take ownership and use initiative and can work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of construction industry, manufacturing, property development and/ or property investments
  • Strong commercial awareness in management of Sub-Contractor Accounts.
  • Experienced in Sub-Contractor and Supplier Procurement.
  • Strong IT Skills

Qualifications:

  • HND Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
