The Opportunity
Our client is a leading national multi-disciplinary Consultancy. Growth in the electrical Engineering division has created an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Building Services Engineer. You will be involved in a range of diverse and interesting projects across both the private and public sector, with clients in healthcare, education, retail, and local authorities.
The Position
As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work to ensure projects are delivered to the right scope of time, quality, and budget. This is a key role to delivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions to a range of clients across the UK; other key duties of the role include:
- Carry out building analysis
- Liaising directly with clients and contractors
- Prepare and manage designs, feasibility studies, reports, and contract documents
- Supervise team of Engineers and Technicians
- Deputise for senior staff as appropriate
- Assist in management of project resources and costs
The Person
We are looking for an experienced and design-focused Senior Electrical Engineer who has Chartered Engineer status and/or degree level qualification and/or relevant number of years’ experience. The successful Senior Electrical Engineer should have the desire and capabilities to develop their career within a people and client orientated construction and property consultancy. Experience in the Health Service and the Education sector would also be an advantage but not essential.
Key knowledge and experience we’d like you to have:
- Knowledge of H&S/CDM requirements and current legislation e.g., UK Building Regulations
- Familiarity with electrical and lighting design software’s such as Hevacomp/Amtech/Dialux
- Fire alarm and emergency lighting design experience
- Knowledge and understanding of BS7671
- Structured wiring system and security system design experience
- Resource planning and management experience – desirable
- Knowledge of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements
