Overview:

Due to an increase in workload, my client, an international engineering company based north of York, are looking to recruit a Welder Fabricator.

The main purpose of the role is to perform welding to radiographs standard in mainly non-ferrous metals on product components in accordance with the welding procedures manual and ISO3834-2.

This is working Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week. (8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Thursday) (8:30am – 4pm, Friday).

Overtime rates kick in after your standard 37 hours. Time and a half Monday – Saturday and Double time on a Sunday. Package also includes pension, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays etc.

Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)

• Performs welding to achieve qualifications in ISO BSEN 278 and ASME IX
• Experience in high quality welding of stainless steels, Duplex, Inconel and Aluminium
• Must be proficient and familiar in understanding fabrication and welding prints
• Complete all necessary documentation according to the requirements including consumable, monitoring and safety documentation
• Carry job tasks safely using good working practices and following procedures accurately
• Ensure good housekeeping to avoid cross contamination

Accountabilities: (Deliverables)

• Types of welding include MAG, TIG MIG and general welding in accordance with BS EN ISO 15614 and ASME IX
• Full penetration pipe welding on exotic metals to strict criteria
• Ensure quality standards are met and inspection criteria are achieved
• Must be willing to complete continuous codes and procedures
• Fettling to a high standard of welded components

Education / Qualifications:

• Shop floor apprentice background or relevant experience
• Demonstrable practical knowledge within a similar role.

Technical Competencies:

• Performance and quality of job Role (Job Knowledge)
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills
• Basic knowledge of using IT applications

Key Skills:

• Weld test to be completed on interview in Aluminium and stainless steel
• Set up and welding
• Some travelling may be required
