OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a M&E Project Manager on behalf of a well-established maintenance and refurbishment contractor based in the South West.

Operating for over 20 years, they have recently secured a long-term contract to provide maintenance services at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, Porton Down, Wiltshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious person to join a forward thinking and proactive business who prides itself on quality, safety and encouraging great teamwork. The candidate would also have a major role to play in the recruitment of a new team to deliver the new contract.

We are seeking a candidate with experience of working within the field of commercial mechanical & electrical maintenance, service and small works. The overall responsibility of the role is to ensure successful execution and completion of several projects, meeting defined timescales, quality standards and commercial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety – Demonstrate appropriate Health and Safety leadership to ensure that the safety first and foremost message is visible and alive throughout any activities carried out.
  • Business Processes – Ensure adherence to all company policies, processes and procedures
  • Compliance – Ensure under direction, all works comply with Company standards and to meet and exceed client expectations, as well as the requirements to meet/exceed international standards and manufacturers installation guideline systems.
  • Team Leadership – To provide leadership for the project delivery team and to maximise the potential of the team and the individuals within.
  • Business Planning and Budgeting – Provide input in the preparation of the business plans and budgets accurately based on the initial contract parameters and objectives. Seeking opportunities to provide actions which maximises profit on the project. Continue to monitor the profitability.
  • Monthly Reviews – Provide appropriate input to all monthly reviews in line with the business procedures to ensure that the senior management have full knowledge of the completion and financial status of the project until completion.
  • Project Delivery – To manage all related activities to the successful completion of the projects. In line with agreed quality and commercial plans to achieve targets within agreed timescales and cost constraints.
  • Relationships with Customers – Ensure that positive relationships are maintained with the customer through efficient delivery of projects with a view to optimising future opportunities and profitability.

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Relevant minimum qualification (HNC/NVQ or equivalent) in either mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • SMSTS certificate is beneficial.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • A demonstrated history of successfully delivering Mechanical, Electrical and Building Management packages.
  • Able to hit the ground running, be flexible with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong M&E/Building Services background.
  • Proven aptitude overseeing day-to-day project management. Self disciplined.
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
