OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

Due to successfully being awarded several new contracts this leading Heat Network Consultancy is recruiting for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer. You will be responsible for ensuring that the project deliverables you work on meet the client requirements, and are delivered on time and budget across a wide range of quality assurance activities.

The Position

  • Your role will consist primarily of reviewing designs and calculations; reviewing technical submissions; carrying out onsite checks of installation against design; witnessing heat network commissioning and water treatment activities; carrying out acceptance testing post commissioning; reviewing heat network performance by assessing complex data; and producing models and reports for presentation back to clients.
  • Assisting clients set up the internal processes and frameworks for ensuring the effective delivery and operation of heat networks
  • Manage around 4 projects at any one time, whilst also providing project support to other team members on their projects. For the projects you are leading on, you will be expected to manage the project budget and plan resourcing for the scope required.
  • Mentor Graduate Engineers. ensuring the upskilling and knowledge growth of these individuals.
  • Develop an understanding of the relevant regulations, policies and standards that govern the industry, particularly around the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS) which will become the key technical requirements all heat networks must meet under Heat Network Regulations.

The Person

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience within a consulting engineering role within the heat network sector.
  • Good understanding of heat network design and operation, particularly with regards to common pitfalls and key failures often seen in the industry.
  • Working within a small team carrying out reviews on design, installation, commissioning and performance, both desktop and on site.
  • Ability to understand heat network design schematics.
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office packages
