OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Plumber on behalf of one of the UK’s leading building services companies.

Established over 40 years, their head office is based in London, and they also have several over offices across the nation. They are known for their services in M&E, FM, Design and Construction.

They are a well-known company with hundreds of employees working for them. They work in a range of sectors including commercial, residential, health and transport.

As the Commercial Plumber, you will be responsible to carry out basic HVCA, L8 Legionella inspections, basic Planned Maintenance (PPMs), basic plumbing Reactive works M&E repairs and able to carry out minor projects for specific trade associated systems to a high level standard. This is to cover Cornwall Council’s commercial estate of around 300 properties. Candidates must be able to carry out monthly water legionella tasks & reactive plumbing works etc.

This is a permanent position, covering Cornwall, paying £35k – £37k per annum + Van & Fuel Card (which can be used for private use) + Overtime + Pension + 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increases to 25 days after 2 years) + Sick Pay + Training & Development programmes etc. There is also a call out rota which is 1 week in 5 with £105 per week standby allowance.

 

Responsibilities

  • PPM in adherence to set HVAC engineering standards of excellence. All in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act requirement and to company safety procedures and contract specification.
  • Carry out legionella testing & provide written costed solutions to all defects identified.
  • Respond to Reactive Works to include all Mechanical & Electrical and minor fabric issues.
  • Adhere to the out of hours call out rota.
  • Correct and timely completion of paperwork according to company policy and procedure.
  • Provide engineering condition reports and quotations.
  • Tablet interface via the clients CAFM application & IT literate.
  • Understanding of Service level agreements (SLA)

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Recognised plumbing qualification.
  • Basic HVAC knowledge.
  • Reasonable competence of fabric maintenance. i.e. Basic carpentry (door repairs, shelf erecting etc); internal furniture, fittings and décor repairs; external fixtures and fittings repairs.
  • Experience working within FM or the building maintenance industry.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.
