OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are recruiting for a Senior Energy and Sustainability Consultant on behalf of a leading multidisciplinary consultancy at their office in Manchester.

The Senior Energy and Sustainability Consultant will be responsible for conducting Thermal and Energy Modelling for a range of high profile projects including Commercial, Education, Retail and Residential developments.

 Role Description

  • Thermal and energy modelling of buildings using TAS
  • CFD modelling for building physics
  • Understanding of the building certification process,
  • Provide planning and design advice as appropriate to relevant teams within the business
  • Carry out renewable energy feasibility studies and report on findings
  • Liaising with clients regarding design requirements and advise on any potential sustainability issues

Skills & Attributes

  • BSc or MSc in an Environmental or relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience working within sustainability/energy consultancy on major projects.
  • Demonstrable project management and budget control experience.
  • Have a solid understanding of sustainable building design, low carbon technology and renewables.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSc or MSc in an Environmental or relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience working within sustainability/energy consultancy on major projects.
  • Demonstrable project management and budget control experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Thermal and energy modelling of buildings using TAS

  • Involvement in the building certification process including application for relevant certification
  • Provide planning and design advice as appropriate to relevant teams within the business
  • Carry out renewable energy feasibility studies and report on findings
  • Liaising with clients regarding design requirements and advise on any potential sustainability issues
